Gimme Five: Vell's Favorite Edison Chen Movies

The movies she liked and adored the most from her international idol Edison Chen. Since his movies were from Vell's childhood years and has loved those movies until now are now unforgettable in her mind and soul.

Check out Vell's favorite Edison Chen movies

1. Gen Y Cops

"This inspired me after listening to his song "Yu Loi Bin Loi" that I wanted to search the full movie of it even though it is dubbed in German, I'm after the actors' action star-like moves and it's concept. Since he's trained in boxing and martial arts in his early years in the industry, it is much a surprise to me that he could do what a true action star did. he's not trained in acting that time but I could see that he is so natural in that film. The film is much has elements more on the action scenes like fighting and bloodshed, I was much inspired to do martial arts for pleasure.. Hope I could watch this more in the future if I have time.

2. Dance of the Dream

NOTE: The video is the soundtrack of the film :)

"Where he starred alongside Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung (his idol) where he was in his 2nd year in the entertainment industry. I fell in love with this movie because of it's classic dance - the tango. The whole movie focuses more on the dancing and to the lead actors. I found Edison Chen more attractive in that movie even if his parts are much almost rare.. I observed his acting skills in this film more curious that I wanted to see more of him not just an action star like Nicholas Tse but also seeing Edison Chen more in a gentleman-like roles and this film will showcase his character of a gentleman... I bet that this movie will win hearts of movie goers"

3. The Twins Effect 1 (aka The Vampire Effect)

"After watching this vampire movie, I was more appreciative not just in his acting skills but also in his knowledge to his role (aka giving justice to his role) especially when the scene between him and Charlene is there (aka the love birds scene. Where he speaks English in the "almost ending" part where he was persuaded by the Duke to come and join with him but he [Kazaf] refused. I've praised him for being brave in taking this role seriously! - bravo!!"

4. Final Romance

"I found this movie more relaxing because this movie is focused on the hard to get relationship between the mechanic and the daughter of a rich man. I also adored his natural acting skills by portraying like a true friend of Jean (Amanda Strang) by taking good care of her (where Jean has asthma) then they were separated due to Jean's engagement to Peter but she escaped just to be with Ah Dik as they cherished their love by staying in a far place where no one is around but the two lovebirds until Ah Dik sacrificed his life (as Jean's father was supposed to be killed) but insted Ah Dik was killed in which he showed his love for Jean by sacrificing his life for Jean's father. After a year of recovery, Jean and Ah Dik were getting back together (as before) but in a deeper way with happiness. My favorite scene is where they were stranded by a strong snow storm in which he incorporates his connection with Jean [naturally]. So this was Edison Chen's only romantic film in his entire career since he's more on to crime, mystery films as a younger actor."

5. Life 7 Translated

"Since this movie is a school themed, this moved me to happiness. This movie focuses the bilateral relations between the Anglo Saxon and the Chinese relations. Where the movie has incorporate school values, relationship among students, hardships to the foreign environment and "enemy to friends" attitude. His role in this movie is a student who has a move like a music student where he studied piano and has composed his song (as a dedication to their friendship), he is also a team mate of Tom in the rugby sport where he also bring honor to their team. I was so obsessed with his Mandarin speaking voice and his piano skills (surprisingly) in which his role is more relevant for me (since I have lessons in piano). I've learned that putting commitment to the music will bring you honor to yourself too. I became inspired to act in films like this (aka "school themed films"). I've found his role being more natural by reminding me of his high school life by imagining that he's just like a high school student with conviction towards his role in this film. I also loved this movie because his secret skill in cooking was revealed in this movie.
